Describe some of your daily tasks?

Day to day my tasks include using Adobe XD to prototype projects I am currently working on. Recently I have been setting up and preparing for Adviser Feedback Sessions that I am going to be conducting for a project I am working on.

I work closely with my team on a day-to-day basis and take advantage of Microsoft Teams when working remotely.

Did you always want to work in Technology Services?

No, to be honest if you would have asked me what UX Design was a few years ago I wouldn’t have known what you were talking about. Originally, I saw myself in Graphic Design, but was introduced to UX in my first year of uni and knew from then that this was what I wanted to do.

What advice would you give any women thinking about a career in tech?

Go for it and don’t look back! I did and I couldn’t be happier doing the job I’m doing. I think the male gender stereotype surrounding tech can sometimes put women off, we need more female tech leaders as role models in the industry. Women in tech support each other and help to break the gender stereotypes to make the tech industry a more gender equal industry.
