Hybrid working

Our hybrid working policy offers a blend of working from home and working in one of our three offices, in Manchester, London or Bristol – the split of which may depend on your role within the business.

To see first-hand how a more blended approach to our working culture has had a positive impact on our staff, meet Jess, our Apprenticeship Admin Support, Martin, our Operational Change Director, and Matt, our Customer Services Manager, three members of the team working in various departments throughout the business.

“We’re still so well connected, that if anything, it’s improved the working culture.”

Since joining AJ Bell in 2020, Jess reflects on the evolution of our working culture to the hybrid working model we operate now, and the benefits that it’s given to our people.

Jess feels hybrid working has meant the best of both worlds for her team, who can now split their time between home and the office, whilst remaining well connected.

With a four-legged friend like Todd, she’s in great company when working remotely.

“It’s allowed me to do school runs, attend school sports events, it’s a very positive experience.”

Meet Martin, a member of the team since summer 2022.

Based in London, Martin embraces our hybrid working policy as it allows him to work between both our London and Manchester offices, and remotely, allowing him to spend more time with his family.

As a departmental director, Martin explains how he’s now able to recruit the best talent from across the country, as our seamless plug-and-play ability allows his team to work from anywhere, even whilst commuting.

“I would say to someone who’s looking for a job, and hybrid working is important to them, that AJ Bell does facilitate that.”

A member of the Customer Services Team since 2018, Matt, one of our Customer Service Managers, talks about how hybrid working operates in one of the largest departments in our business.

As a departmental manager Matt has been able to utilise hybrid working to support the efficient running of his team. Despite not always being together in the office, Matt tells us how hobbies, such as his departmental five-a-side football team, allow him to socialise with colleagues.
